Comments:  I've got Gallifrey Chronicles - I've been waiting for that book for a LONG time. It was a sweet read, gave me some answers that I've been anticipating for a good 4 years now. I've found the best way (though often a little more expensive) is just to go to www.amazon.co.uk to get the books there. I'm thinking that's what I might have to do to be able to see the new series, which is an absolute shame - I'd love to see the new series on a real TV instead of just playing it on my computer monitor because it's the only way for me to watch region 2.

Site Found:  google on Eccleston's character
Comments:  The saga is taking an excellent further twist - but it has taken 2 episodes to decide I feel comfortable with it. Eccleston is too brash and not the most thoughtful or approachable of the Doctors, though yes he brings back some of the seventies Doctors' wildness of character. He is definitely not a mainstream version of the Doctor - but neither was Hartnell, compared to his successors. But as we learn about him now being the last Time Lord and having just been involved in this traumatic war which they lost, we should understand that he is in deep pain and has naturally lost that front of protectiveness and scientist's confidence that he used to have in previous actors' versions. Brashness and hard-edged attitude are often a psychological shield reaction to that, especially when you are drifting with nobody left to relate to tenderly - as Doc was before meeting Rose. On this basis we should accept the Eccleston portrayal as a scarred phase in the Doctor's character development, that is aberrant but understandable from events. The second episode has ended with him showing chinks of his underlying emotions, doubtless to be enlarged on later. But I'm still pleased to hear he has left the role and there is now an opprotun ity to cast for a return to a gentle-thoughtful character type. As well as having a new Doctor they should bring back Paul McGann: there isd a market in doing both, so they shoudln't just do one of these things, they should do both concurrently, and fill in the gap in the saga.

Comments:  I really like your web site and think it is really hoopy like the time Hartnell and Turner disappeared during a Con and then watched Security looking for them as they sat dranking tea. [_-_}+Hoopy means completely together according to The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. I kep a copy in my Tardis. REMEMBER WHERE YOUR TOWEL / SCARF IS
