In the renovated docklands of South East London, on the bank of the river Thames, the doors of the Dusk are open for business.  Bets are called, cards are dealt and roulette wheels spun.  As fortunes are won and lost, an inhuman killer stalks the local avenues and alleyways - a killer with a taste for flesh.

Is there more to casino owner Reggie "The Gent" Mead or is he just a common ganster?  What secrets are hidden in the bowels of the Dusk?  And what connection does the apparently sleazy Bermondsey casino have to a long-buried government initiative known as Project: Twilight?

The Doctor must form uneasy alliances where the line between friend and enemy is blurred, playing games of chance...

But are the stakes too high?
Las Vegas!  Bright Lights!  Gambling!  A city that never sleeps!  An ideal backdrop for the Doctor and Evelyn to take on a hoard of slavering modern day Nosferatu.  "That's great," said Gary Russell one afternoon, "But can we set it in Bermondsey?"  And that's how Blood Money became Project: Twilight.

We'll clear a few things up from the start - Omega does not appear in Project: Twilight.  Neither does Rassilon.  Come to that, neither does it feature the death of Evelyn Smythe, but these and countless other rumours about the story on various 'net discussion groups provided no end of amusement as the script took shape.

Writing is fun.  Writing Doctor Who doubles that fun, and when you're writing in a partnership, it means that there's someone to share the fun with.  It didn't help that one of us decided to up sticks and swap the picturesque climes of Bath for London just as we started scribbling, but thanks to fevered e-mail threads zipping up and down the M4 and three hour phone calls, we managed to pull together what you're about to hear.

The challenge with taking on vampires in Doctor Who was to do something that gave the blood suckers a new spin, without getting bogged down in continuity and cliché.  We hope we've achieved that.  And Gallifrey is only mentioned once, so there!
