France 2/15/1942
   Singapore falls to Japan
On the eve of the Pearl Harbor attack, Japanese troops were transported from Indochina to the Malay Peninsula, and Japanese fighter pilots attacked Singapore.  Singapore eventually surrendered to Gen Tomoyuki Yamashita and sixty-two thousand Allied soldiers were taken prisoner.
