X-Men: True Friends

Kitty meets the 1936 version of Wolverine (fully grown, with adamantium claws and healing factor) in this issue. This, their "first" meeting, takes place decades before their real first meeting in X-Men #129.

Kitty realizes Phoenix is under the influence of the Shadow King, who is collaborating with the Nazis; Kitty and Alasdhair fly to Edinburgh in a futile attempt to rescue Phoenix and Lilabet; they are almost captured too, but are rescued by -- Wolverine?
