Dangaioh - Hyper Combat Unit (破邪大星ダンガイオー or 破邪大星弾劾凰 Haja Taisei Dangaiō) is an anime OVA series produced by AIC studios and released in Japan in 1987. It consists of 3 45-minute episodes. Features mechanical designs by Shoji Kawamori (best known for his Valkyrie mecha designs of the Macross series), production direction by Masami Obari and animation direction by Hideaki Anno (best known as the creator of Evangelion). The version of the OVA currently available in the United States consists of the second and third episodes; the master of the first was destroyed accidentally.

Brought together by the mysterious Dr Tarsan, these four psychic warriors; Mia Alice, Lamba Nom, Rol Kran and Pai Thunder are able to unite to form Dangaioh - the most powerful weapon in the Universe. Using their cyonic force, they alone can stop the bloody tyranny of Captain Garimoth.

The team hope their psychogenic wave will be strong enough to destroy Garimoth's evil henchman, the notorious Gil-Burg, who has sworn by the taking of his right eye to utterly destroy the Danagioh team. Along with the threat of Gil-Burg, the Dangaioh team must also avoid falling foul of Garimoth's trickery which finds weakness in their forgotten pasts.

Title: Cross Fight
Notes: Opening theme song for episodes 1 and 2.

Lyrics:

Cross fight, cross fight!
Fight for love. Fight with all your might!
Dangaio!
You have joined your undefeated spirits.
The four warriors keep shining to the end.
You wonder who you really are.
But keep shinning to the end.
Your four warriors spirits, have become one soul.
Your soar across the universe.
Turning it the color of fire.
Break trough this mysterious sadness
Cross fight, cross fight.
Fight for love.
That shinning light is Dangaio!
Cross fight, cross fight!
Be true to your dreams!!
Live for your love!
Fight with all your might!
Dangaio!
