Buffy starts spending more time with Faith when she gets a new Watcher.  As they spend more time together, she starts giving in to the thrill of the hunt and to fall more into the "Slayers are above the law" ideals that Faith has.  When Faith accidentally kill a man things turn south for them, especially when Faith tries to cover her tracks.
