Wolfram & Hart call forth a demon that is to separate Angel from the Powers That Be.  This demon is upset that Angel has the scroll and goes to retrieve it.  Along the way, he kills the Oracles, triggers Cordelia's visions into constant, painful, flashes, and blows up Angel's offices with Wesley inside.  Angel arrives during the ritual and defeats the demon but Lindsay finishes it.  Angel is able to recover the scroll however, and Wesley is able to finish the translation of the prophecy that says Angel will be returned to human after his trials are over.  It is also revealed that Wolfram & Hart's ritual has called forth Darla, Angel's sire, from death.
