Sylia is looking for Dr Shan. When she finds him, he recognizes her from when he helped in her father's work. He tells her that Brian J Mason is using the GENOM Shoen project, the Dragon Line, as a cover to look for the lab of her father's. With Sylia's assurance that she will do what she can to keep anyone from using the things that are in the lab, Dr Shan agrees to help her to determine the location of the lab.
Nene shows up at Nigel's and wants to talk to Priss. She talks about Sylia's past and wonders about why Sylia created the Knight Sabers and her father. She wonders why Sylia hates boomers so much since most of the patents for them are in her father's name. Nene, at work, digs into Dr Stingray's files and finds out something.
Sylia discovers that the creature that disabled the boomers and ate them was an offshoot of one of her father's works. She and Nigel attempt to create a device that will detect the presence of her father's lab.
Nene, at Nigel's, grills Maki about Sylia and his and her childhood.
Mason is informed about Sylia's contact with Dr Shan and he decides to use her to help find the labs. Sylia informs the girls about the search but is vague about why. Priss gets Sylia to admit that the lab is her father's. Nene then confronts Sylia on the fact the Maki doesn't seem to exist in records. She also admits that she knows about the "accident" at the lab. Nene doesn't know what it was but she found out that GENOM had used an artificial earthquake device to deal with it. Sylia confirms that this is true but still won't say what it was that caused them to use this device. She does say that Maki wasn't involved but Nene runs off. Priss and Linna agree to find the lab anyway. As they leave, Mason's spies track them.
