The Parents Association have been calling for the baseball tem to be disbanded and Principal Mita agrees.  Kanako is still banned from baseball but she it turning sixteen soon.  The press somehow got wind of the heroic deeds done by Ryo and print a story on her and the unknown fact that her father used to also visit the orphanage.  This causes many of the parent to withdraw from disbanding the team.  Meanwhile, Kanako's father tells her that she can ask for anything for her birthday.  She asks that he not break up the team, even if she didn't get to play.  At the Parent's meeting the next day he announces that he cannot support the parents in breaking up the team, much to Keiko's surprise.
