The Argo gets caught in the gravitational pull of Jupiter and cannot get out. The engines aren't strong enough. They find a floating continent in the atmosphere of Jupiter and set down on it to make the repairs to the engines that they overlooked from the last Warp.
The Gamelan base on Pluto warns the fighter base on the floating continent about the Argo and they send a fighter to investigate.
Meanwhile, IQ-9 goes outside the ship and finds that the atmosphere is mostly liquid and that humans could not survive.
When the Gamelan fighter gets within range Wildstar goes to check it out. Wildstar's ship is crippled by the Gamelan but he recovers and runs it off. General Ganz decides to go after the Star Force with missiles instead of fighters.
Sandor tells Captain Avatar that they can escape the gravity of Jupiter by flying along with the floating continent and using an extra burst of speed to slingshot away from the planet. The Gamelans, meanwhile, launch their missiles at the Argo. The engines are repaired just in time for the Argo to launch and escape the missile attack.
On their way back around to the floating continent the crew decide that they must use the Wave Motion Gun to destroy the missile base before leaving Jupiter. It has never been tested and this will be the first trial of the gun. We also find out that the Wave Motion Gun requires all of the power of the Argo and that the Argo will be powerless for a few minutes during firing. When the Gamelans find the Argo coming back around they abandon the base there.
When the Argo fires the gun, they completely destroy the floating continent. Thus they learn the power of the Wave Motion Gun. They almost fall back into the gravity of Jupiter with the power lag but manage to pull out in time.
General Ganz worries over telling Desslok about the powerful new weapon the people of Earth have.
