The Reds are after Max when they use her pager to track her down.  They want to use her genetics to help with their implant technology that kills them too quickly.  When they use Original Cindy as bait to get Max, she uses an implant that they took from one of the dead Reds on herself.  Logan and Cindy are able to short out the implant just before it burns her out.
