Max hes been at Manticore for a few months while Logan thinks she's dead.  She's been given Zack's heart after the shot himself in the head to save her.  While mostly going along with the training, she's been cutting through a wall in her cell to escape.  She attempts this with the help of a friend lurking in the basement named Joshua who has canine DNA.  When Max finds Logan, she finds out that Manticore has infected her with a genetically engineered virus that will attack Logan and kill him.  When she returns to get the antidote, she ends up destroying Manticore and freeing all of the captive there.
