A pretty woman shows up at a bar where Toshiko is and gives her a necklace that allows the wearer to hear the thoughts of others.  When she hears many things from her co-workers, she begins to feel alienated and confides more in her new friend Mary.  Eventually, she finds out that Mary is an alien and want to get into Torchwood for a device that they recently found.  Toshiko is torn between helping her new friend and her loyalty to Torchwood and the people there.
