Captain Jack and Toshiko investigate an abandonded building where strange noises have been heard.  The enter the rift and are taken back in time to 1941.  Jack meets the real Jack Harkness, the man from which Jack took his identity from many years ago.  Meanwhile, Gwen, Owen and Ianto are looking for clues to help the two get back.  Ianto and Owen get into an argument over using the Rift Manipulator which ends in Ianto shooting Owen.  Owen still gets the machine functioning and Jack and Tosh arrive back at their own time.
