Chronologically episode 8.  A young girl, after reading a flyer posted by Kyon, comes to the SOS Brigade saying that her boyfriend is missing.  He is the Computer Club president.  Haruhi and gang investigate his apartment but find nothing.  Hungry, Haruhi heads off while the rest of the Brigade meet up and go back into the aparment.  Inside, Yuki takes the four of them into Closed Space where they battle a giant insect that is in actuality a Data Entity.  The new logo that Haruhi designed for the SOS Brigade and put on their website has caused a long dormant Data Entity to revive.  Itsuki uses to esper power and Yuki helps out to destroy the entity and save the Computer Club president.
