The unlikeley collaboration of Angusson and Dokufu has caused the rebellion to spill into the central section and then the administrative section.  Meideen authorizes everyone in the women's only section to be evacuated with Jinto's approval.  Jinto informs Lafiel and his contingent on the surface that he will stay on the planet to make sure that the western section's evacuation run smoothly.  In the car travelling to the western section, one of the officers turns on them and kills one of the passengers.  Meideen and Jinto find themselves headed toward the rebellion leaders.
