A mail pod has reached Red Dwarf after a 3 million year journey.  A leter from Rimmer's mother informs him that his father has died.  Along with the mail, the pod is filled with movies and video games.  One of the games is "Better than Life" where the players are plugged into a virtual reality.  Even Rimmer can join and so he, Lister and the Cat enjoy "Better Than Life", until Rimmer's built in "nothing good ever happens to me" complex ruins it.
