Ace Rimmer, star pilot, has taken on the job of testing a dimension jumping engine in a new space craft.  This lands him in the Red Dwarf dimension where he crashes into the crew taking a fishing holiday.  He helps them get the bug back operational but Rimmer doesn't like Ace all that much, even though he is himself.
