Juna is a high school girl who performs in archery competitions at school.  After flubbing a competition she talks with her boyfriend Tokio and they decide to go to the ocean on his motorcycle.  On the way they are invovled in an accident and she dies.  She sees herself die on the operating table and as she floats away a boy named Chris offers to give her a second chance if she will fight the Raaja.  Raaja are strange worm like creatures devouring the Earth.  She tentatively agrees and awakens in the hospital to everyone's surprise.  Before anyone can say anything, she takes off - headed toward a nuclear power plant.
