After a rest Chitto and Tohma sneak out and head to Chikao.  On their way they discover that boats and helicopters are swarming the island.  Chitto thinks they are after him but in fact they are after the escaped prisoners from the boat.  The two boys break Helga out of her detention cell and escape into the woods.  They run into one of the escapees that the police are looking for, an old woman who says that she's 24 years old.  She shows the three kids her ID badge showing that she works for GED with a much younger picture of her on it.  When they old woman is found by the people on the island, they try to save her but their efforts are too late.  The police tell the kids to forget everything and the set off to find the other escapees.  Meanwhile, the director of the orphanage tells the men there to forget about Chitto and Helga, saying that what's happened is the police's fault and not his.  The other escapee is in the house that Detective Cooks visited talking to the missing boy's younger sister when her mother comes home.  When she sees this, she graps the little girl and sees another older woman sitting in her living room.  The older woman seems to disappear when she looks again.
