A few months have passed and Haruka is still gone.  Suzu tells the Youko and Rosalie goodbye one night and later Kantarou returns home and tells them that Suzu is actually a ghost.  She died soon after the night at the temple after staying out in the cold for so long.  He cannot figure out what is left unfinished for her that she has not moved on.  They go to her father's house to see what they can learn and they find Haruka there also.  Haruka tells Kantarou that he did not leave because of his memories or because he killed the demon but because he tried to kill Kantarou.  They reconcile and Haruka says he will return.  Hearing this, Suzu finally moves on and they all realize what her unfinished business really was and that she knew all along that she was a ghost.
