Many years ago Ryuuya, a bodyguard, has been assigned to care for Kanna, a winged girl.  She has been locked in a palace with her friend Uraha.  The three of them begin to form a bond but things change when Kanna is ordered to another temple.  Ryuuya vows to do anything that Kanna asks and begs her to order him to help find her mother.  She does and the three of the escape.  During the escape Ryuuya kills a man and Kanna makes him swear not to kill again.  Later he severely wounded because of this promise and Kanna apologizes for making him make that promise.  They finally arrive at the place where Kanna's mother is and Kanna reveals her wings to her.
