The three travelers need to get money for a boat and so they separate to earn money their own ways.  Fuu finds an artist and poses for a painting.  Jin wages his life against a bag of gold in a chess game and Mugen steals from the local Yakuza.  Fuu gets captured by the local Yakuza for whom her painter is working and is about to be sent overseas as a slave.
