After an argument about Fuu's lack of knowledge on the samurai that smells of sunflowers, the trio split each going their own way.  Jin runs into an old aquaintance named Yukimaru who wants to kill him to become famous.  Jin easily defeats the man but offers to allow him to say he killed him.  He then jumps off a cliff and into a river.  Fuu falls off a cliff and into the water also where she has flashbacks of the samurai that smells of sunflowers.  Mugen is attacked by a man named Okuru.  Fuu later awakens in Okuru's camp while Mugen is attacked by men looking for Okuru who think that Mugen is him.
