While in the mountains Ginko hears a sound like a girl screaming.  He sees her walking toward a village and follows.  On his way he notices rust everywhere.  In the village he sees it on the people as well and learns that they cannot see it but can feel it.  He finds that this is a mushi that is called by the girl when she talks.  This is why she hasn't talked to anyone in years even though she is still blamed for the sickness.  Ginko tells her that he can help her and cure the villagers but that she will have to leave the place in order to do so.
