Speed and Trixie watch as the Masked Racer arrives for the upcoming race.  There is controversy around him since a lot of wrecks happen in races he's in.  Speed wants to race in the race also but Pops won't allow it.  He tells Speed about his older brother and how he failed in a race because he didn't have enough experience.  He left home after that and they've never seen him since.  Speed, determined to get experience, leaves at night in the Mach 5.  In the torrential rain he is met by the masked racer to tells him to stay out of the race.  Instead Speed heads off on the wet roads to prove himself against the Masked Racer.
