Speed and Trixie are on a drive when they see an old Model T broken down.  They stop to help but the old man is rude to them.  The leave and hear of an escaped convict on the radio.  On the way back the car is still broken and so Speed helps the man and befriends him by showing him that the Mach 5 is a standard shift also.  They are invited to the man's house where they discover that he houses orphans.  When they leave the see that the man's car has been stolen.
