Speed is able to use the underwater mode of the Mach 5 to escape the lake and they follow the Mammoth Car.  They eventually win the race tied with the Mammoth Car but neither of them stop.  Speed is able to cause the Mammoth Car to crash.  When a fire breaks out and it begins to burn, the car starts to melt.  It turns out that the car was made from the stolen gold.
