Vash shows up in a small town looking for Frank Marlin, a man who can help him get his gun firing correctly.  He finds instead a drunkard who tries to escape life through the bottle.  Meryl and Milly show up also and they learn that the town has no sheriff since everyone has weapons thanks to the gunsmith.  A group of thieves show up to hit the bank and they use the fact that Vash the Stampede is nearby to help them in their robbery.
