Vash leaves town aboard the steamer and winds up becoming a hire guard when he discover what he thinks is a poor stowaway named Kaite on board.  Meryl and Milly, in order to keep up with him, hire on as workers on the steamer.  The boy that Vash helps is working for the Bad Lads and not a poor kid at all.  He helps the gang get aboard the steamer but things go from bad to worse when the gang cannot get the safe open.  They decide to crash the steamer in order to open the safe.  Vash and Kaite are kicked out of the bridge after seeing the pilot killed.
