High above Mars a battle rages.  The admiral aboard one of the ships decides to ram an aliens and the ship crashes, destroying a large part of a Martian city.  Underneath the city in a bunker is Akito Tenkawa talking to a little girl and her mother.  An alien shows up in a crack in the wall and he, since he has nano ability, uses a loader to keep it away from the others.  When the others open the doors to get away, more aliens are there and blast them.  Seeing this Akito goes crazy and eventually blacks out.  Much later on Earth Akito works as a fry cook as the Earth continues having difficulty keeping the Jovians at bay.  He gets fired because he can't keep it together when the attacks start.  Riding home on his bike, a suitcase falls from a passing car and hits him.  The woman that gets out seems to recognize him but she heads off when he tells her he's never seen her before.  Seeing a picture she left behind of him as a little boy with a younger version of the girl, he realizes that she is Yurika, a girl he knew on Mars.  Realizing that she may have information about how his parents died, he takes off after her.
