Admiral Munetake sends the Nadesico to the Bering Strait to rescue an ambassador stranded there.  Megumi gets Akito into a virtual reality high school fantasy where she tries to take their relationship a little further.  The always clueless Akito is not sure what to do with Megumi and his lingering thoughts of Yurika.  Yurika, on the other hand is totally distracted by Megumi's and Akito's relationship.  This causes her to fire the gravity cannon and bring the Jovian hordes upon them.  They Nadesico is eventually able to rescue the "ambassador", which is a polar bear fitted with electronic devices.
