Winrey comes to town to see Ed and Al.  Ed wants to investigate the serial killer murders but Roy tells him he can't do that as a state alchemist so Ed turns in his watch.  When Winrey gets kidnapped, Ed takes off in pursuit.  After almost getting Winrey and himself killed, Ed realizes that not everything is as easy as he thinks.  Ed gets reinstated as a state alchemist so that they can continue to search for the Philosopher's Stone when not on missions for the military.
