Ed finds out that the Fifth Laboratory was used as a biological research facility for the military.  Here he is shown him red water and the fact that there is enough ingredients to create a philosopher's stone.  Before he can begin, the secret is revealed that the "red water" is actually several prisoners from the nearby prison.  Ed must decide on whether he can sacrifice these men to restore his brother.  in all of the confusion and the explosions that Number 66 caused, a mysterious man who was sealed for over a hundred years awakens.  Maes Hughes orders an investigation into the Laboratory and why it appears to have been still active after reports show it shut down.  Greed, the sealed man, takes of with many of the kimeras that were in the lab.
