A Russian tale.  A soldier finds good fortune as he travels home from a war by giving away his last three biscuits.  For the last one, he gets a bag that anything so ordered must enter and a deck of magical playing cards.  With the cards he's able to relieve a castle of it's infesting demons.  He makes one of the demons swear alegience to him.  Later, when his son is sick, the demon heals him and gives the soldier a glass in which he can see death in exchange for the demons release from his bond.  The soldier travels and heals people until the Tzar becomes sick.  Death is at his head so he will surely die but the soldier asks for death to take him instead.  When death shows up, he orders him into the bag.  With death captures, no one dies in the world anymore, so the soldier frees death and ask for him to take him now.  Death runs away instead fearing the soldier and so he is doomed to live forever.
