A German tale.  A boy is born that knows no fear.  In the town he lives he woos a young woman but, in order to experience fear, he sets off on a journey.  He meets a man and offers him 40 crowns if her can make him afraid.  Throughout the journey, nothing fazes him, and because of this he becomes rich.  When he returns home, he finds that the woman he's been wooing has become sick and he knows fear for the first time in the possibility of losing her.
