A German tale.  A giant without a heart causes havoc until the king captures him.  Much later, his young son befriends the giant in prison who uses him to get free.  After two of his brothers leave to capture the giant and never come back, the young man goes himself.  When he arrives at the giant's home, she sees the men who have come before turned into statues.  He offers his services to the giant and eventually learns where the giant has kept his heart.
