Ayunosuke has taken Jiyu to a mud pit in order to allow her to heal.  Freesia returns to Jiyu's home and starts working her father into believeing she's run away.  At school she also tries to turn her friend against her but this doesn't go as planned when they determine that someone must have captured her and want to help her.  Fever dreams appear to Jiyu as she heals.  When she awakens she tells Ayunosuke that she has given the eyepatch to Freesia and that he can give it to her a rest.  As he crawls away with tears in his eyes, the boy turns into the bark of a tree still holding the Lovely Eyepatch.
