Kitaro remembers how he once admired Yagyu Jubei.  He also remembers how the Edo Yagyu came to destroy the Northern Yagyu.  He calls upon the spirit of his father to give him strength.  Later, when Jiyu gets out of the mud and starts to stretch her body, he hears her.  He wants to attack but cannot since his body is not yet healed.  Jiyu help him and tells him she's glad he's all right.  He starts to question why he wants revenge so badly.  Freesia and Sai are on a bridge and Fresia is working on his emotions toward Jiyu.  Jiyu finally gets home and no one is there so she washes up.  When her father arrives, he slaps her.  She tells him that she is sorry, she thought that this was another home and leaves.
