Pacifica and her step-brother Shannon and step-sister Raquel are traveling when they are attacked by masked men who are after Pacifica, calling her the poison that with destroy the world.  During the fight, while Shannon (a sword master) and Raquel (a magic user) are distracted, a boy named Chris Armatile appears beside Pacifica and tells her how intesting it is that she can't defend herself, then leaves.  It comes to light that they are on the run.  Pacifica is the one known as the "Scapped Princess".  A prophecy was delivered on her birth that said she would destroy the world and so her father sent a warrior out with her to kill her.  He failed to do so and she ended up Shannon and Raquel's family.  They have been on the sun since their parents died.  On their journey they discover that even people they once trusted are no longer allies.
