Natalie tells everyone that the world they live in is one created in order to control humans.  The mechanism that can destroy the shell of the false world is the Providence Breaker, Pacifica.  Before further explainations, the peacemaker Steyr attacks the vanguard.  Seness uses the station's weapons to hit back.  Steyr then creates proxies to come after the vanguard, she is also able to gain control of some of the people inside the control room before they shut down the visual circuits.  With mayhem outside, Seness orders the withdrawal of troops and the sealing of the station.  Pacifica is told that peacemakers can control all humans with one exception, her, and that they fear her because her abilities are contagious.  With all of the deaths around her, Pacifica become agitated and screams out, causing the controlled people to break free, proving the point.  Meanwhile, full of doubts about his role as the Providence Breaker's guardian, Shannon asks Zepheris to merge with him to attack Steyr.  Zepheris says that his doubts make that dangerous but he insists and ends up gaining the upper hand against Steyr.  Before she can be fully defeated, however, CZ shows up and phases her out.  Before she leaves, CZ tells Shannon that the battle with Pacifca has moved into a new phase and that the peacemakers can no longer keep it silent.  They demand that she show up for battle in Leinwan in fifteen days or 1000 people will die each day after that.  With Steyr gone, all of her proxies have dissapated and the people aboard the vangaurd active the ship and take off.
