The king, Pacifica's father, has gathered his commanders for a war counsil now that the battle fortress is approaching with the Scapped Princess aboard.  He is persuaded by General Stahl that they need to use a banned military grade spell against them.  Meanwhile on the battle fortress, Shannon cannot trust Zepheris after his ordeal which causes problems between the two.  Also, the crew discover the spell but realize that the vanguard can take a hit by it although the collateral damage would be great.  Suddenly, the defense systems start shutting down as the peacemakers manipulate the engines.  When Natalie advises everyone abandond ship, Shannon joins with Zepheris to fight the peacemakers in order to distract them.  He and CZ get into it and the Skid's engines come online just enough to move the ship.  It's not enough, though.  Raquel, realizing their danger, puts up barriers around everyone on the bridge just as the spell hits the Skid.  Later, a man named Furet is looking at the wreakage from the Skid and the coastal dwellings when a young blond haired girl approaches him with no memory of who she is or where she came from.
