Yoshihiko plays baseball but isn't really into it.  During practice he hits a foul though the library window.  When he goes looking for it, he accidentally knocks a girl off a ladder.  He catches her and, as she leaves, she kisses him and thanks him for saving her.  He never finds the ball but, wanting to know more about her, he visits the library again and again.  Each time she's not there and so he reads a book while he waits.  He tells each of his friends about the girl and their meeting and, depending on the book he's just read, the story changes.  Later, it's up to Chiharu to inform him that the girl has left school to go back to Paris and that, when she kissed him, it was just the way that French people show gratitude.
