New Years Eve is here and the new millenium is about to begin.  There are two rumors floating around: one is that if you're with the one you love on New Year's, you'll be together forever; the other is that you will be doomed if you are together.  Yoshihiko and Natsue decide to go together to the celebration while Makoto and Yuki decide to stay apart, just in case.  Kyoichi doesn't invite Chiharu over as her usually does and instead wanders around town.  At midnight, he bumps into Chiharu who was invited by a friend to the celebration, but he walks away.
