Exploring some empty rooms in the Inn, Keitaro finds a doll that moves on its own and apparently talks - although no one else can hear it.  The doll cannot move it's legs and so he promises to help fix them.  The doll tells him that his grandafther once promised the same thing.  He gets Kaolla to help.  Once the doll is fixed she tells Keitaro about how they used to play together when he was younger and he begins to think that maybe he made his promise to go to Tokyo U with the doll.
