Sara falls into depression while Capt Dante lures Jake into the White Bulls, a corrupt inner circle of cops.  The Witchblade draws Sara into the periculum, a trail that will end in her death or the acceptance of the Witchblade.  Linked with the blade, Irons allows Nottingham to go to Sara to oversee her protection.  He sees the image of Danny and leave her alone.  Eventually, she comes out of the trial and appears to have put the death of Conchobar behind her.
