Sara is able to use the Witchblade to find Danny and dig him out before it's too late.  After a while they both are called in to a murder scene at which a security guard has been skewered by some blunt spear or something.  After finding two more men murdered similarly, both of whom worked at Irons' company Vorshlag, she pays him a visit.  He attempts to use the spear to defeat Sara but she is able to beat him.  He causes Sara to run her blade through his neck.  Nottingham tells her that now she has a new enemy in him.
