Something has escaped from a facility and it is now out and killing people in the city of Romdo.  In addition to this, more and more AutoReivs are being infected with the Cogito virus.  Re-l Mayer and her entourage Iggy are put in charge of investigating the murders.  While on the case they run across a mysterious monster that is too powerful to be a human or an AutoReiv.
