Mugen, Jin and Fuu purchase travel passes in order to cross the border.  When the get there they discover that they passes are forgeries.  The three are sentenced to death but the leader decides to get Mugen to run an errand for him instead.  If he can deliver the head of one of their victims and return before sunset, they all will be set free.  He runs into some warrior monks along the way who are bent on overthrowing the government.  He and the man following him to keep an eye on him are captured.  They begin a fire in the storehouse to help them escape and the fire soon spreads to the monks' crops - which are of the illegal variety.  The smoke from the crops cause hallucinations which allow Jin and Fuu to escape and cross the border.  They are a little mad at Mugen for failing in his task and when they finally find him and see his condition, they get even madder.
