Yoko took her time off teaching children on a small island.  When she gets word of Simon's trial and the moon falling, she heads to the city to help out.  She spring Simon who takes Viral with them in order to re-from the Great Gurren Brigade.  The Arc-Gurren must lift off with less than half of the people on board as planned when the Anti-Spiral attack is pushed forward.
